SHEER MAG - EP
I saw this posted online a couple of times but had always been busy so when I came across it again I decided to stream
it and see what it was about. The debut from Sheer Mag offers tight punk tinged garage rock with sharp hooks and some driving
yet tasty guitar with more hooks than a meat locker being used to hide bodies for the mob. The songs are personal tales but
come up hard and to the point, making you tap your feet and in shock as the band's penchant for songs that walk the line between
garage rock and punk. A good piece of music to show that pop hooks doesn't always have to result in cliche slick pop. (BOONE)
(Vinyl and tape available from Wilsuns Recording Co (wilsunsrc.bigcartel.com) in America or Static Shock Records(staticshockrecords.limitedrun.com).
Download available from: sheermag.bandcamp.com)
EDITOR'S NOTE: Since the print version of this review came out I've learned that the vinyl version may be sold out (at
least on one of the labels) so search online (I think there may be some copies available somewhere).
