OFF! - "Live at the BBC" EP
This was one of those things I had to see if I could find after interviewing We Are Hex on Record Store Day a while back.
This EP finds hardcore supergroup OFF! playing a live session for the BBC's Radio One Rock Show. Short fast blasts of vintage
style hardcore punk is delivered in full effect and with no mercy. Driving and energetic, they go through a cross section
of their work to date and throw down some hardcore that is surprisingly melodic as it blasts out the speakers in its three
to four chord glory and rage. Part angry, part skeptical, these songs shake you up and make you wonder what’s next.
Fans of OFF! already have gotten into this but newbies to the subgenre should hear this to show that hardcore is more than
the metal based version sold to them as such these days. While it was released for Record Store Day, copies are still around
if you know where to look. (BOONE)
