WAR ON WOMEN- LP
I've been meaning to get this for a while now but hadn't truly been able to until I saw the band opening for Anti Flag.
The debut full-length from War on Women carries on the spirit of their previous EP with fast moving high energy hardcore punk
songs forged by dual wall of heft guitars, aggressive rhythms and powerful yet sometimes clear as a bell vocals. Tackling
issues such as rape, the attack on abortion rights, misogyny and violence against women, and transphobic second wave feminists
among other things, the band tears through their music with a raw intensity. Walking the thin line between hardcore rage and
melodic song craft the band explodes out the gate and makes it look totally easy in the process with plenty of power to spare
along the way. War on Women seem to progress with each release and show signs of only getting more intense. I look forward
to hearing what else may lie ahead as this band carries on down the road. (BOONE)
