NERVOSAS - LP
News of this being out took me by surprise so when they played St. Louis a few months back I went and snagged myself a
copy. The latest album (and second self-titled one) from Nervosas is fired up moody art punk meets death pop. It’'s
a place where short explosive songs mix together moody, semi-dramatic vocals with fast rhythms and crunchy, sometimes reverb
infused, guitar tones. Within this comes songs that look at personal angst in both the big and small picture with a feel
that calls to mind both HC punk and early death rock, using it as a base for which to carve their own sonic mark. Micki,
Jeff, and Nick mine the thin line between catchy melodies and pure sonic ferocity and crate something that almost threatens
to explode out the speakers with its intensity. Each release finds Nervosas harnessing their approach into a fully in your
face sonic event and this album more than meets expectations. (BOONE)
