LITTLE BIG BANGS - "Star Power" LP
I received a pre release download back at Dismal Niche Fest but I wasn't able to really listen to this until recently
due to time and backlog issues. The new album from Little Big Bangs finds the quartet harnessing their blend of indie/alt
rock song craft and wall of noise sonic textures into some driving underground rock with even catchier hooks than their earlier
work. Tackling a blend of personal dissatisfaction and bigger picture topics (amongst them police abuse of power) the lyrics
have an anger that lurks beneath the surface and become more prescient as the album progresses. Little Big Bangs have again
managed to walk the line between alt rock melody and the anger of punk and noise rock, harnessing it for their own sonic ends
and making a mark. Fans of underground rock - or even more adventurous alt rock fans might do well to check this album out.
