MENTHOL - "Plastic Garden" cassette EP
I came across this while searching for something else and decided to give this a spin (or whatever the hell the digital
online version of that is) just to see what it sounded like. Menthol throws down crude and raw punk rock with no frills production
and a sound so raw it almost threatens to corrode the speaker wire. The songs are short and fast, with a basic guitar and
rhythm section dishing them out without frills or even the appearance of polished production. Menthol isn't reinventing anything,
nor do they claim to. However, it does show the ethos of punk rock and its DIY back to ground zero approach. While there
are rumors of this being released on a 7" the fact that I can't find anything regarding a release date means I'm assuming
it's still only on cassette and download. (BOONE)
