SPIDER AND THE WEBS - "Spider Magic" cassette
News of this release seemed to come out of the blue so my curiosity was definitely piqued. The latest tape from Spider
and the Webs blasts out some relatively powerful underground rock'n'roll where driving beats and incendiary guitar hooks create
songs that draw from indie, vintage garage rock, and punk. With songs that range from pieces of personal introspection to
open calls to rebellion, the lyrics blur the line between the personal and the political. With a knack for hooks a lot of
bands would kill for Spider and the Webs have returned with a batch of songs that can both simmer and snarl throughout. I'm
assuming the cassette is still available but a download is available if it isn't (I'll try to find out as you read this).
Regardless, fans of real underground rock need to listen to this. (BOONE)

EDITOR'S NOTE: I've heard reports that Spider and the Webs may press this album on vinyl soon. I'll seek out the details
and let you know.
