DAVIE ALLAN/JOEL GRIND - EP
I didn't even know this was in existence until I was bored and looking online and came across a chance to hear it. Fuzz
guitar biker film soundtrack legend Davie Allan and Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust each offer up a pair of instrumental songs
to this EP. Davie Allan starts the disc off with a pair of vintage flavored rockers with riffs snarling throughout and a
hint of twang underneath. Joel Grind's songs are faster with the first of the two having elements of space rock and metal
woven in and the second built around a guitar lick that, while only mildly overdriven (at least compared to the rest of this
EP), is delivered at lightning speed. The feel of this music hints that trouble is coming and creates a picture that would
be impeded in some ways if these songs had vocals. I know this won't be everyone's bottle of whiskey but for those wanting
to hear some instrumental rock with a bit of heft to it or want a primer for how fuzz can be used in a track this may be something
they want to check out. (BOONE)
