LA SERA - "Music For Listening To" LP
I'd been curious about La Sera for a while but hadn't really heard much outside the casual listen of a song or two along
the way. When I got a chance to stream this I decided to give it a listen for myself. The latest from La Sera is simmering
indie torch rock fueled with jangly bittersweet sounding 6 and 12 string guitars and lilting vocals over a rhythm section
that stays on point throughout. Melodic and reverb fueled, the songs tell of relationships and their ups and downs while
sonically touching on elements of folk, vintage country, and 60s rock in their mix. Katy and Todd's vocals blend perfectly
within this sonic framework and emerge with what can best be described as proof that one can be introspective but still rock.
On Music for Listening To La Sera have created an album that's familiar yet doesn't seem cliché as it lilts over the listener
and piques their interest. (BOONE)
