ROYAL BRAT - "Negative Bone" cassette EP
I first learned about this band from a friend and I was curious so I decided to head online and check them out. The debut
EP from this Minneapolis band throws down and raw and medium fast punk rock with queer themed lyrics and a lot of attitude.
Gooey hooks and wall of crunch guitar blazes through these breezy tracks; walking a thin line between the melodic and a HC
loud fast rules ethos throughout this EP's five songs. Royal Brat's ability to meld the driving and raw side of punk with
extremely hook laden tuneage creates a debut that sneaks up on you and refuses to let up. For a band that just started up
in the last year or so, they have already found a niche to carve their way into and make their own imprint. The cassette
is sold out as far as I know (here's to hoping they did another run of them for the upcoming tour) but you can still get this
as a download. I wonder how this band sounds live. (BOONE)
