PIXELS - "Hello" CDEP
This came our way when one of the band members was touring through these parts with his other band so we decided to check
it out. The latest from Pixels is a short direct blast of catchy underground pop rock full of reverb-ed out guitars and stripped
to the core song hooks that seem to go between the indie rock of the Flying Nun bands and hints of 60s era AM radio pop.
Direct and personal, the five songs (the CD has a bonus track apparently not on the download) sneak up on the listener and
lure you into their sonic world. Pixels' music isn't for everybody but their take on reverb laden pop rock and a stripped
down recording approach should appeal to those wanting something that isn't as cliché as much of even "indie" music
can appear to sound these days. (BOONE)
