BLEACHED - "Welcome the Worms" LP
I know this has been out for a few months but I was occupied with other things and didn't get a chance to hear it until
coming very recently. The new album from Bleached finds them harnessing their blend of punk and indie pop/rock into a melodic
weapon. Crunchy riff fueled personal songs are in full effect with a blend of overdriven and slightly bittersweet jangly
guitar tones and a ton of hooks to create a breezy listen that finds the band moving forward without completely giving up
their energy. While the production here is more polished than their previous records, the songs still remain the focus and
manage to sidestep any potential pitfalls. Bleached's ability to mine the gray area between underground rock and pop song
craft has worked in their favor with a catchy album that still stays true to itself. (BOONE)
