SETH BOGART - LP
I know this came out a few months back but it managed to remain under our radar until recently so we're getting to it
now. The solo debut of Seth Bogart nearly overflows with catchy electronic based pop rock delivered with simple arrangements
and a approach that is both heartfelt yet doesn't take itself seriously all the time. Built on electro beats and synthesizer
lines that go for the target these songs examine personal issues with a mix of the heartfelt, some cynicism, and a sense of
humor. Occasional bits of guitar appear on some tracks and several songs are collaborations with guest female vocalists (including
[but not limited to] Kathleen Hanna and Tavi Gevinson) adding another layer to them in the process. I know this may alienate
some people who think punk should exist within very narrow parameters but this album manages to fit the spirit of punk and
underground rock without being fully of said subgenres. (BOONE)
