DESCENDENTS - "Hypercaffium Spazzinate" LP
Sometimes news of an album comes as such a surprise one has to satisfy their curiosity to hear it so I jumped the first
chance I had. The new album from these legends throws down their brand of old style pop punk (emphasis on punk here) harnessed
through no frills songs that take the personal themes in an older a direction ranging from the dichotomy between how one looks
on paper versus reality to the effects of age (in particular having to stop eating fats) to a tribute to an ill friend to
the overmedication of youth and more. Dished out with no unnecessary frills, the music here forges ahead with loud guitars
and more hooks than a meat locker. A lot has happened since the Descendents first took the stage in the late 70s but the
music does carry on the spirit of their original records. Chances are if you listened to this band back in the day you already
have at least streamed this album if not bought it by now. (BOONE)
