VALIDATION - cassette EP
I first came across this when I found out the band would be coming through the region just before Memorial Day weekend
so I decided to take the plunge and listen. Validation's debut is raw and crude hardcore punk with buzzing, near dissonant
guitar and songs that are like a sonic kick to the face. Angry songs that tackle subjects such as abuse, misogyny et al blast
out the speakers with a raw power that calls out for action against the injustices around us. Set to a corrosive sound bed,
the music explodes as both counterpart and compliment to the vocals with an intensity that recalls vintage hardcore. Validation's
debut manages to show that punk rock at its most ferocious can be as vital as when the subgenre first exploded onto the landscape
some three or so decades ago. I look forward to hearing more from this band. (BOONE)
