ARC FLASH - Carbon Copy LP
Having recently been turned onto this band via their live show at Café Berlin the night after the election my curiosity
was piqued; thus when I learned this album was coming out I had to give it a listen. On their debut album, the Lawrence based
throws down driving underground rockers where rhythms that veer on the verge of rampaging meet with reverb soaked guitar and
some unexpected unexplained sounds at times to create high-energy songs that are appear to be part garage/surf rock rave-ups,
part punk sonic strummings. They also seem to blur a line between personal, political, and storytelling with hints of robots/cyborgs
at times. Powerful and a bit breezy, the music here almost flies through the speakers with a ferocity and feel that demands
you pay attention. There's something to this album that's hard to explain but keeps you alert and makes you wonder what's
next. With this album, Arc Flash is off to a jaw dropping start. (BOONE)
