I've been meaning to get to this disc sooner but a number of things outside my control have kept me from really listening
to this until now. The latest from Action Painters is a brief collection of melodic power pop songs full of breezy melodies
and catchy arrangements. Using the interplay between direct but simple rhythms and a mesh of guitar and keyboards, these
songs come off with a breeziness that grabs the listener's interest early on. While this band isn’t reinventing
the wheel sonically they manage to pull it off with sincerity and a knack for hooks that highlights the melancholy of some
of the songs while maintaining the feel of an aural pick my up. TTWN readers with a jones for well-produced pop rock may
find the music of Action Painters interesting and worth checking out. (BOONE)
