JELLO BIAFRA - "Jezebel"/"Speed Demon"
This is one of those things that took many of us by surprise. Originally recorded for a Reverend Horton Heat tribute
album, Jello joins forces with Zen Guerrilla for this single. The A side takes on the Frankie Laine song "Jezebel"
and turns it into a swaggering punk rock song that goes beyond even the Rev's cover of it. "Speed Demon" is taken
into hyper drive with loud and heavy guitar and an in your face speed that matches the best of hard rock and punk in the process.
Both songs are dished out full throttle with high-octane guitar and a more aggressive vibe that demands a reaction. While
it may be a while before we hear music from Biafra's new band on disc, this single is a good little way to satisfy our appetite.
