BUCKETHEAD - "Young Buckethead Volume 2" DVD
I finally got around to really watching this after way too many times of skimming it. The second disc to chronicle the
early days of Buckethead offers up more footage of the avant shred guitarist during his days with the Deli Creeps in the early
90s. This time around there's footage of the Creeps' San Francisco debut from 1990 (with a different opening song and Buckethead
using a different headwear than the KFC Bucket he's since become known for) among the footage as well as backstage footage
and an interview with Buckethead done on the spot. While the live footage shows the band's music in a more metal element,
there are embryonic traces of funk and country elements Buckethead would later mine as well as a strange live act that hints
at what would follow a few years later (see review of volume one in issue 89 for more on that). It's harder to explain the
legend of story of Buckethead than to actually see him in action, but if Buckethead fans haven't already picked this up they'll
enjoy it. (BOONE)
