CHUMBAWAMBA - "Get On With It - Live" CD
This has been out in Europe and elsewhere for a while but we hadn't been able to get it in this country until recently,
thus the reason it took us so long to get to it. This live album showcases Chumbawamba in their latest incarnation as an
acoustic folk quartet on their 2006 tour. Combining traditional folk songs with the band's more known material over the years,
the band focuses on harmonies and more gentle melodies and hooks to sing about class conflict, war, homophobia, corporate
globalism, and much more from a far more radical stance than you tend to have nowadays. Musically this album will come as
a shock to those who are only familiar with their 1997 hit "Tubthumper" but by carrying on a more folk music tradition
(one that had always been there at one point or another) Chumbawamba manage to carry their legacy to another level. It's
good to see that they're still at it after all these years. (BOONE)
