EASTFIELD/DESTRUCTORS 666 - "Labor Omnia Vincit" split CDEP
One of the things I've been trying to do more recently is try to get through the backlog pile and get things close to
up to date when I came across this split EP we got a while back. Eastfield kick the disc off with a trio (four if you count
the medley second track) of stripped down to the point punk songs with minimal production and a lo-fi leaning (though definitely
not lo-fi) vibe to their odes to not giving in to money or trends as well as their own updated spin on Tom Robinson Band's
seminal 1977 anthem "Glad to Be Gay." Destructors 666 barrel into a more aggressive dual guitar forged style of
punk rock with chanted choruses and a denser feel to their songs (including a hidden track I didn't expect). The two bands
on this disc have different approaches to punk rock but manage to compliment each other on this disc. All in all this is
a damn good split EP, I must say. (BOONE)
