GOSSIP - "Live In Liverpool" LP
It's about time that I put this on and check this out (been meaning to for a while but couldn't get around to it until
I was busy organizing some shit). The second live album from the Gossip captures a 2007 (?) gig in Liverpool, England. Musically
the band's blues flavored take on punk (or vice versa) is intact with songs stripped down to the guitar/drums vibe that can
go from swampy ooze to danceable groove with swagger and energy throughout. While the band's approach is the same, the production
is more noticeable on this, presenting the band with more clarity and a slight bit of polish not apparent in their earlier
work. There's also a DVD of this performance included (which could explain the higher production quality in a lot of ways),
which makes this worth the cost. I was debating whether or not to put this in here but believe you should at least check
out this record. I wonder what's next for them. (BOONE)
