SIXTEEN HORSEPOWER - "Live March 2001" double CD
This has been on of those bands friends have encouraged me to check out but for some reason had never really done so,
thus when I learned of this I was curious. These two discs showcase the band on some live dates from early 2001. In this
setting their blend of early country, spiritual music, and rock harnesses enough power to kick through the speakers as you
listen with the songs taking on a more intense feel than their studio recordings. While their instruments may be more roots
oriented and traditional (especially their use of banjo and accordion), 16 Horsepower proves they can rock with just as much
passion and gut level ferocity as any hard rock band out there, whether during their late 90s/early 200s heyday or currently.
Now I'm kicking myself for not checking these guys out when I had the chance to do so. (BOONE)
