There are times when a record just takes you by surprise - this is one of them. Thao with the Get Down Stay Down's debut
clears out the cobwebs with a batch of breezy songs driven by acoustic guitars that somehow can evoke both a laid back vibe
and an up tempo approach. This album has a catchiness and intimacy that manages to snag the curious listener and guide them
through the journey, whether it's a straight ahead breezy rocker or a more introspective slower song. At a time when singer/songwriters
seem to be a dime a fifty, Thao with the Get Down Stay Down play their music with a vibrancy that avoids the current clichés
while managing to stay along both classic pop rock at its best and current indie rock. This is one of those records that
